Our Mission and Vision

Our mission

Grounded in the ideals of “intellectual independence” and “open civilisation” at Ibn Haldun University, IHU TÖMER aims to teach Turkish on a global scale, not merely as a practical means of communication, but as the primary vehicle for our deep-rooted vision of civilisation and historical heritage stretching from Asia to Anatolia.

By blending contemporary teaching methods, such as integrating Learning Management Systems, designing digital content, and carrying out task-based fieldwork, with our historical memory, we offer international students the opportunity to experience “learning by doing” beyond the classroom. IHU TÖMER is committed to nurturing its students to become “bridge figures” who can use Turkish naturally in their academic, professional and social lives, and who can serve as cultural ambassadors between Turkey and their own regions.

Our vision

Guided by the principle of 'From Tradition to the Future', our aim is to become a globally recognised centre of excellence in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language, by combining the historical and cultural richness of the Turkish language with today's digital transformation. Focusing on Turkey and the Turkish language, we aspire to be a leading institution that produces original educational materials supported by audiovisual storytelling, gamification, and interactive digital systems. We also aim to guide scientific research in the field through innovative curricula in both online and in-person education, and to pioneer the positioning of Turkish as a respected language of science, art, and academia on the international stage.
