Ibn Haldun University Center for Turkish Language Instruction (İHU TÖMER), started its activities on December 3, 2017, provides Turkish education to all students, which constitute 35% international students, in line with the university’s “learning three languages” policy. In addition to language education, activities are also carried out in Language Preparation classes, to students in the processes of transition to academic life, to provide common academic competence.
İHU TÖMER organizes Turkish educational programs and courses to individuals, corresponding to daily language and academic language used in the public sector, private sector and international organizations.
İHU TÖMER opened its doors to everyone who wants to learn Turkish in 2018 and started to offer “Turkish Courses for Foreigners” with its experienced staff.
As İHU TÖMER, our mission is to provide students with daily speaking skills in Turkish and to teach Turkish at the level of academic competence.
In İHU TÖMER;
The academic calendar consists of five modules for Preparatory classes starting in September and ending in July.
Compulsory and elective Turkish preparatory trainings are five different levels, each of which lasts 7 weeks, adapted to the ADP criteria of A1, A2, A2 + / B1, B1 + / B2 and B2 +.
Academic reading and writing training begins with the B1 level.
Proficiency and Placement Exams are applied to each student who will be enrolled in the preparatory program or seeking exemption.
Apart from the IHU TOMER preparatory program, it also carries out credit / non-credit, undergraduate and graduate level Turkish courses. Turkish courses are also given to other foreign language lecturers, IHU Summer School Language Program and open Turkish courses outside the university.
