TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM
The proficiency exam is a paid exam administered by İHU TÖMER to individuals who wish to document their Turkish language proficiency for purposes such as work, education, etc. If this document will be used within the university, in other words, if the student takes this exam as one of the requirements for studying at İHU, a fee determined by İHU TÖMER will be charged to the student.
This exam is a standard proficiency exam prepared without considering the candidate's educational background. Therefore, candidates of all levels can take this exam and document their level. It can be administered online or in person.
Duration: 250 minutes (approximately) + 15-minute break
Content: Reading (3 texts) 90 minutes
Listening (2 recordings) 40 minutes
Writing (2 compositions) 20+40 minutes
Speaking (individual-interactive) 10-15 minutes
Point Distribution: Reading: 25 points Listening: 25 points. Writing: 25 points. Speaking: 25 points.
Exam results are determined based on the European Language Portfolio. Accordingly, the level designations are as follows:
A1 – A2 (Basic Level)
B1 – B2 (Intermediate Level)
C1 – C2 (Advanced Level)
Candidates who take the Turkish Proficiency Exam receive an official certificate indicating their Turkish language level.
Exam fee: 100 Euros (Reservations are required to take the exam.)
Appointment:
Students must first make an appointment by calling the IHU TÖMER office in order to take the proficiency exam. Students should be ready at least 15 minutes before their appointment time.

LEVEL DETERMINATION EXAM
The level determination exam is a free exam administered to all students who wish to take Turkish language courses at IHU TÖMER or IHU. It determines the level at which the student will register or allows them to be exempt from Turkish language courses. It is administered to all students regardless of their preference or the level they have completed elsewhere. Only students paying for courses/IHU students who wish to start at the basic level do not need to take this exam.
Duration: 70 minutes (approximately)
Content: 40-question Grammar-Reading section (test) 40 minutes (approximately)
Writing 20 minutes
Speaking 5-7 minutes
